Mission trip to Papua New Guinea
On February 9th, 2004 seven men from our community boarded a plane in Sioux City to travel to Papua New Guinea to assist two missionaries with New Tribes Mission.  Papua New Guinea is located north of Australia.  The missionaries, Aaron & Lori Luse and Butch & Tammy Kunzer,  serve the Patpatar people on the small island of New Ireland.  Aaron arrived on the island in 2003 and works with the Kunzers who live among the Patpatar people.  There is no written or recorded language, so they live among the people to learn their language and culture to eventually share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them.  If you would like to learn more about the trip please click the following link.  Mission Trip

SPLASH
In 2005, we piloted a new program in our community.  SPLASH (Serving People, Loving & Serving Him).  This program is designed to help the elderly in our community with projects around their home.  Many of these people are on fixed incomes and can not afford the necessary repairs or projects needed to maintain their home.  We provide this ministry at no cost to them.  In 2006, we will expand this program to include the Gospel Mission in Sioux City.
